Ms. Romano is the Executive Officer at Lockatong Engineering, Inc. responsible for the operations and overall management of Lockatong Engineering. Her Senior Project Management responsibilities include conducting engineering investigations and regulatory compliance evaluations. Investigations include commercial property condition assessments, new construction and existing building inspections, reserve and transition studies for condominium associations, and environmental assessments. These inspections include the evaluation of the structure, mechanical and electrical systems, and energy performance of buildings. She provides an analysis of site and building conditions as well as recommendations of design and efficiency improvements. She also conducts regulatory compliance evaluations for commercial and institutional facilities. These evaluations include air, water and wastewater permits; storage tank, hazardous waste and medical waste compliance; and regulatory recordkeeping reporting.

Qualifications

Ms. Romano has over 20 years of engineering experience specializing in evaluation, inspection, and analysis of building condition assessments, environmental investigations, and regulatory compliance evaluations. She has performed construction inspections on single and multi-family houses, mid and high-rise condominiums, as well as a wide variety of commercial buildings. She has evaluated the condition of the various systems in buildings, prepared maintenance plans and cost estimates for repairs, and provided recommendations for improvements.

She has conducted regulatory compliance evaluations of various commercial, industrial, and medical facilities to provide professional consulting to the facilities to ensure they abide with complex environmental regulations. She has prepared air permit applications for Title V and minor source facilities. She has performed regulatory audits of commercial and healthcare facilities and developed programs, procedures, and training for staff to adequately comply with the regulations they are subject to. She has knowledge of  regulations for fuel storage tanks and spill prevention procedures.

Previously, she had multiple responsibilities including health and safety officer, supervisor of environmental remediation activities, oversight of underground storage tank removal, groundwater investigations, indoor air quality testing and analysis, and environmental risk assessments.
